Short, honest, and to the point — because that's how I work.

Who I Am
I work with women — specifically parentified, overfunctioning women in midlife — who are exhausted from carrying their relationships and don't know what to do next.
I've sat with hundreds of women who are smart, capable, deeply loving… and completely depleted. Women who came in saying "I don't know if I should stay or leave" — and left saying "I finally understand why I've been doing this."
That clarity? That's the work. And it changes everything.
Parentified, overfunctioning women in midlife — especially those carrying relationships alone.
Relief before decisions. You can't think clearly from exhaustion. We get you out of that first.
For much of my life, I was the strong one. The responsible one. The woman who could carry almost anything.
Growing up in Kenya as one of ten children, I learned responsibility long before I understood what it meant to simply be a child. I learned to anticipate other people's needs, keep the peace, work hard, and put myself last.
I carried those lessons into adulthood, marriage, motherhood, and eventually my career as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
From the outside, I was accomplished. I had built a life, raised a family, earned advanced degrees, and spent years helping others heal.
But there was a painful contradiction in my own life.
I had confused being needed with being loved. I had mistaken endurance for strength. And like so many women, I had been taught that a good wife, a good mother, and a good woman was someone who could keep giving, even when it cost her herself.
Eventually, I began asking a different question.
What if my worth was never supposed to be measured by how much I could carry, how much I could tolerate, or how little I needed?
That question changed my life.
My healing wasn't about becoming less loving, less generous, or less committed to my family.
I began challenging the beliefs that had kept me overfunctioning for decades. I learned to set boundaries without drowning in guilt, to stop managing other adults' emotions, and to recognize that someone else's discomfort did not automatically mean I was doing something wrong.
And perhaps the most liberating realization of all?
Today, I bring both my professional training and my lived experience into my work as a therapist and coach.
Through Jane Kuria Coaching, I help parentified, emotionally exhausted, overfunctioning women reconnect with themselves, rebuild self-trust, and make decisions from clarity rather than fear, guilt, or obligation.
I don't believe every struggling marriage must end. But I do believe that a woman should not have to disappear for her marriage to survive.
My mission is to help women stop buying love with their labor, their silence, their bodies, and their peace.
Because you can love deeply without losing yourself.
You can be compassionate without carrying everyone.
And you can choose yourself without becoming a selfish woman.
I'm Jane Kuria, and I believe it's never too late to come home to yourself.
